When pop singer Michael Buble performs, his love of singing is obvious. Even he knows that. "Expect to come and be taken away for a couple hours," Buble told The Flint Journal about his live show.

They were/are among of the greatest pop singers of all time, bringing bottomless quantities of warmth and soul and grit and character to their songs. Michael Buble is not them. Not even close.

Michael Buble: hater of angels, heaven and lazy rhymes. For three very successful records, Michael Buble has reinterpreted standards. But when it came to last fall's hit album, "Crazy Love," the pop/jazz singer decided it was time to start telling his own stories and included two originals, including the Sinatra-esque "Haven't Met You Yet." "I like my words to be very tangible," the affable 34-year-old Vancouver native says of his writing style.

It has to be words that I would use. If they’re not phrases I would say, then it’s not believable when I sing it.   -Michael Buble

He's smooth, clean-cut (at least in looks) and he has a velvety voice and style that any standards-loving hipster and his grandma could love. He's Michael Buble, a man out of time who on paper shouldn't be the platinum-selling sensation he has become. The 34-year-old Canadian singer/occasional songwriter, in the tradition of the Rat Pack — after whom he has in part modeled himself — sings in the classic jazz-inflected style of Sinatra, Martin, Darin and other sharp-suited perennially cool cats.

When I first got a record deal they wanted to market me a certain way. I hated it, I was living a lie   -Michael Buble

Michael Buble has vowed to dilute his alcoholic drinks on tour - after receiving some strong words of advice from veteran crooner Vic Damone. The 81-year-old recently branded Buble "cocky" on stage, and insisted he was shocked to find the singer smoking and drinking "straight alcohol" after a show. Damone told the Arizona Republic, "I told him, very nicely, that what he was doing was not going to do any good for his vocal chords. He just looked at me and said, 'I know what I'm doing.' Well, good luck

Based on talent and various style points, Michael Buble would have been a contender for the Rat Pack. His behavior off the stage, however, could get him into big trouble with Sinatra's crew. "The longer I've done this the more sober I've got," he says in a phone interview. "I used to come off and have a nice scotch, but now I have to be a lot more disciplined. You almost have to be an athlete up there. You can't mess around too much. I want my voice to be strong, and I want my head to be in the right pl
